Free Sales Tips to Increase Sales

By Sean Smith

As the proud owner of a small neighborhood business I am always looking for free sales tips and sales help. Opening an Italian eatery had always been my dream. I knew that one day I would have my own restaurant and be able to share my family's recipes and great food with the rest of the world. The only problem was that I somehow needed to get the rest of the world to come into my restaurant. While I was an excellent cook, I was not a sales or marketing expert. I needed to find some sales help.

I found a wealth of information on-line that I used when I was decorating the interior of my restaurant. I read that the color red stimulated the appetite so I painted my walls a warm shade of red. I also spent a lot of time developing and perfecting my menu.

I also read on-line that diners preferred soft lighting, such as candle light while they were eating. I took all of these directives into account while I was designing the interior of my restaurant. I tried to incorporate as many of the free sales tips that I could into my dcor.

I also found a number of free sales tips that helped me to increase my sales and traffic on slower days. They suggested that I offer discounts and specials on nights that I wanted to increase my traffic. I decided to have two for the price of one past night on Monday since it was my slowest night of the week.

When Tuesday night became my slowest evening I offered an all you can eat pizza and pasta buffet. A lot of my customers began looking forward to Tuesday nights at my restaurant and the buffet gained a regular following.

All of the sales help that I found on-line encouraged restaurant owners to provide their diners with something different. I felt that I needed to make my restaurant stand out from the competition. I knew that my food and my menu was as good as it was ever going to be so I decided to add to the atmosphere of the restaurant by providing some entertainment.

On the weekends I hired local musicians to come in and play to help set the mood. Diners that were warm and happy stuck around in the bar area after dinner to enjoy the music and the ambiance.

Overall, all of the sales tips that I learned helped me to open up and operate a very successful Italian restaurant with a steady base of regular customers. We are building an addition this spring onto the restaurant so that we can offer our customers a secluded area for private parties.
